The Incredible Adventures of Cinnamon Girl

I read a lot of YA fiction, and I'm not a YA, so I may get some of the youth's memery wrong in this review.

Alba: Everybody wants to move away from my Australian country town, but I'd be happy to just stay!
Me, who grew up gay in a country town: Mmmmmmmmmmmmm can't relate.

Alba: And all that yummy boy abs, you know?
Me: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

And it's weird, because I really liked Alba, and I was really rooting for her? But I just could not relate to her at all as a character. I really enjoyed a lot of things about this book and I'm going to go check out others, so I'm hoping that that is just a blip in Melissa Keil's books, because of the mood I'm in or because of the way her character was written. Life in Outer Space par Melissa Keil

This was not only a love story about Sam and Camilla, and how opposites attract. It was also a book about a group of friends and how they all work together to take care of each other. I loved that! The kids were likeable and the book itself was very well written. I highly recommend it and am looking forward to reading more of this author's work.

5/5 stars.
