A fascinating book - and not only because it brings Lutherans into play. It even quotes passages from Vespers at some length and some real sermons. I like that off course. Perhaps its a bit to packed with top stories i.e. papal murder, Islamic inferno, mass murder and that's only mentioning the killings. I like the theological discussions - especially concerning the various ludicrous fringes of society, the denominational dialogue amongst conventional pastors and bishops [and at one stage even with the pope from Africa. This idea I like too] the description of congregational issues at literary level. Added to that comes the relative suspense of life in the agency, the strange, but not unlikely biography of the main character - a pastor on Long Island - and also the good treatment of some of his difficult choices in a variety of setups, the depiction of Christian life in 2 kingdoms to the right and left [sword & grace] etc. It's worth reading, even it sometimes things are just too simple! However convince yourself. Therefore: "Tolle lege"… (plus d'informations)
