Murder on The Naval Base by Bechet Kaya is a gripping thriller novel. I practically had to force myself to put it down at nights so I didn’t get sucked into that “one more chapter” zone. I thought Kaya did a fine job of developing the characters—well enough for me to care for, identify with, and sympathise with. That’s a tricky job, but I thought everything was so well done was with this book. The dialogue between characters was pretty skillfully delivered, taught and punchy in each scene. From the overall plot to technical details this book really hits the mark. Murder on The Naval Base is a page-turner with well developed characters, plot, and plausible and compelling story line. I give it the highest of recommendations.… (plus d'informations)

Murder on the Naval Base is a slow steady story about Lieutenant Anderson Garrett Belguzar being accused of a double murder. His wife Bevin and her lover, Andersons former best friend Charles McPhearson were shot each a single time. Behcet Kaya takes you back in time and through the history of each of these characters. The not so secret affair of Bevin and Charles is a steamy love that neither one can resist. The novel takes you through the Naval court hearing. I found this to be predictable with one unexpected part I did enjoy. If you are looking for a lustrous military novel you may enjoy this one.… (plus d'informations)

Murder on the Naval Base is the story of Lieutenant Anderson Garrett Belguzar who has been accused of the murder of his wife Bevan and his former best friend Charles who have been having an affair. At first the evidence against Garrett is overwhelming until you read on and the mystery cleverly unravels that surrounds the homicide.

The plot was well constructed with enough red herrings that kept me confused as to exactly who to think was the murderer. There were twists and turns of the investigation and kept me avidly turning the pages as I changed my mind back and forth as to the guilty party. The characters are well developed and came across with a warm familiarity as I got to know them. The level of detail regarding the naval procedures was excellent considering that the author, as far as I know, has never served. Well written and I highly recommend to anyone who loves a good Murder/Mystery novel.… (plus d'informations)

Over recent years author Behcet Kaya has been going from strength to strength in the crime thriller genre. I’ve read a few of his other books so I’m sure you can imagine I was really looking forward to Appellate Judge. Sometimes getting a new book by one of your favorite authors can be a little nerve wracking as you’re unsure if it will live up to the expectation, and the high bar set by previous novels. I needn’t have worried though as Appellate is, I think, one of his best.

Protagonist Jack Ludefance was again an excellent and compelling lead, and before I know it I was moving through chapter after chapter desperate to find out what would happen next. I’m sure if you’re a fan of crime thrillers you’ll love this as much as I did, and I’d recommend checking out Kaya’s back catalogue as well.… (plus d'informations)
