- In May 1942, Elsa Katz and her husband Siegfried, with their two teenaged daughters, were deported by the Nazis from their home in Prague to the concentration camp at Theresienstadt. Her diary, published in the form of letters to her daughter Vera, reveals a woman who tried desperately to survive. All of them but Vera were dead by 1944.

Very few diaries of Jewish Holocaust victims have come to light, and I am trying to read them all. This one is a useful addition to the Holocaust literature and particularly that for Theresienstadt, but way too short to stand on its own. You will have a hard time finding this one: it was self-published and is so obscure, it isn't even for sale on Amazon!… (plus d'informations)
