While this WAS an entertaining read, I found the characters to be pretty simplistic and flat. The writing was a little over-the-top, and the characters not quite consistent. I think a lot of folks probably won't care so much about that, as the concept is solid and the pacing really well executed, but in comparison to some of the other fantasy I've read this year, I just found this one to be lacking. I'd give it just under three stars, but you know I always round up.

Also worth mentioning, this is definitely a read that a YA audience would appreciate. There is violence, but the relationships and language seemed to be aimed at a younger audience.… (plus d'informations)
