Now that I’ve finished re-reading all of PRESIDENT DAD for the first time since it was originally published in English, I can safely admit that I still love it as much as I did when I was in middle/high school. It’s ridiculous, outlandish and convoluted but also very humorous and sometimes beautiful and poignant. And honestly, the plot never fails to go places I didn’t see coming because they’re so out of left field. But I still enjoy all of it, and I’m glad I decided to revisit what feels like a very formative series for me as a young writer and reader of translated comics.… (plus d'informations)
Sheltered little girl suddenly finds herself in the spotlight when her Dad gets elected President. Add in a stereotypical cast of family, friends, and a mysterious bodyguard, and you've got a pretty standard manga, although set within the politics of north and south korea. Nothing too unusual or compelling here in this first volume, but it's a cute enough tale and pleasant enough art to while away the time.

President Dad's art is clean and quite pretty to look at - however, the plot if sometimes confusing with some rather apparent gaps. Still, quite a nice manga to leaf through if you've run out of Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist and the like.
