The subtitle: "Genealogical Memoirs of the Leading Families of Pittsburg and Vicinity" describes the content. Some of the "memoirs" are quite extensive and reveal the origin of the names of many Pittsburgh streetsand nearby communities. It is interesting that in this 1908 book, Frederick Heinz is given a short paragraph--apparently because he was not an early, founding father of Pittsburgh, but a comparative " latecomer". Today his and his family's achievements in business and in politics would warrant a full chapter.… (plus d'informations)
