The last book in Lynn Johnston's early trilogy of parenting cartoon collections, with the first two covering pregnancy and infancy. It's a quick and amusing read about the "terrible twos" that any parent will find relatable.

I'm quite happy I came across a full set of these books for under $5 in the used section of a Barnes & Noble.

Amusing cartoons about the first year of a baby's life and the toll it takes on the parents. Very relatable.

For the faint of heart: Babies have genitals, and so do mothers, and they breastfeed to boot. Go figure.

And, hey, there's a familiar shaggy dog named Farley on page 43.

A few years before she began her For Better or For Worse comic strip, Lynn Johnston drew cartoons about pregnancy to decorate the boring ceiling above her doctor's examination room table. These cute and relatable gags about pregnancy and childbirth clearly show the roots of Johnston's talent at finding the humor in daily family life.

Love Just Screws Everything Up is a sweet selection of comics that will make you smile.

This is the first (and only) book I've been able to pick up from this series. I happened upon it by mistake, but figured it sounded lovely. And boy, was it! I quite enjoyed the friendly and fun atmosphere of the comics. We follows a family that is dealing with typical family issue: new business, romantic relationships, a child starting pre-kindergarten. All of the drama is positive, funny and made me smile. It's the kind of positive read I needed in my life. Definitely a series that I want to start from the beginning and support.

Four out of five stars. What a nice change up for me!
