Just picked this up on a whim. Was fine and a sorta quick, fun read. But nothing really stood out - the mystery wsan't terrfiic, the food-based stuff was thin, the writing a little clichéd, the characters a little formulaic.

The main character was very unlikeable. She was whiny, sex-crazed, and thought her entire culinary world revolved around her. Her actions were selfish throughout most of the book. The final ending to the mystery was kind of a let down. The motive was, even though realistic, very lame. I'll try another in the series because I believe in second chances. But this series will only get one more chance.

contrived plot, cardboard characters, gratuitous sex, not much pastry. In short, not worth reading, far less reviewing.

I received this book from one of my great book sistah's and loved every minute of it! Unfortunately, Claire M Johnson doesn't seemed to have written any others and I would have loved to have read more.
