Kelly Jennings

This book is fantastic as an exploration of the psychology of the oppressed. The author really gets deep into the mindset of someone who has been profoundly abused for most of his life and the twisted mental processes that arise from that experience. As other reviewers have noted, though, I felt the plot only really hit its stride at the end, and I wish the pacing of events had been more even.

Exceptional issue. All of the stories were great.

My favorite story was Sic Semper by Kristopher Reisz, a humorous ghost story about politics.

Faubourg by Carlyn Worthy was my favorite. I want more, more, and more from this author in this universe. I loved the idea of guardians and I adored how New Orleans and music were woven through every breath of this tale.

The other two stories were good, too. A great issue.
