Woefully inadequate. The author defines ethnic as non-European, and folk as European. She titles the book Ethnic, yet includes a 43 page chapter on European costumes. Many of the items shown are miss identified, as when she identifies a necklace as being from Aleppo, Syria, shown next to a photo of a woman from Libya wearing the same style necklace. She places a Moroccan fibula ornament under Asian jewelry. Three examples of an Uzbek/Tajik diadem (Tillakush) are shown, on different pages, each with different information. She shows an Irish fibula, and a photos of a Moroccan woman wearing fibulae, and states that "large silver fibulas are the most frequently found African adornments." The Bibliography contains only five references, while the Recommended Reading contains 34 references.… (plus d'informations)
