I read this book as a teenager and again 20 years later. The first time, I was baffled by the 'whining' and talk about goals. Riding is riding, right? This read through, I appreciated the book a million times more. What was easy then is painful now, and it *is* hard to balance everything. The discussion about setting short, medium, and long term goals vs dreams was a great starting point. No, the book doesn't hold the keys to life, but it is terribly helpful to know that I'm not alone in being frustrated in trying to make my body do things that were second nature as a child. And I may not need the chapters on how to select a lesson barn or an appropriate horse, there's still little reminder gems about not tolerating places that you aren't happy at (you *are* an adult, and you're paying for enjoyment) etc. I'll keep going back to this one every so often.… (plus d'informations)
