I don't remember this very well, but I do remember being impressed with it. Of course not all kids will appreciate being assigned to read it, but I do recommend it to teachers for their classroom libraries.

James Printer: A Novel of Rebellion is an amazing novel set in the late 1600's. It is the story of a boy named Bartholomew Green who befriends his father's Indian apprentice James. James was plucked from the Indian community as a young boy and was raised as a Christian. When a war begins between the colonists and King Philip (an Indian) James is basically exiled from the colonists. The war goes on and James is still remaining loyal to the colonists by being an interpreter for King Phillip and the colonists. The war ends and James is made to stay away from the colonists on a barren island for the winter. He is then let go and lives his life far away from Cambridge and Boston. James and Bartholomew later reconnect when James helps Bartholomew print a book that needs to be in Algonquin and English. As a lover of history this book had my attention from the start. It is full of periodic details that lead you back to the time and place. James' story was one of unheard of bravery. This book really said to me that even if you have your doubts about someone, they can surprise you. This was an amazing read!… (plus d'informations)

Sleepers, Wake is about a boy named Dody and how his family was the first ever to travel to a planet other than earth that has life on it. Dody and his family were in sleeping capsules that make don't make you age, but since Dody woke up 50 years early, he has aged. So during the journey, Dody and his sister, Elaine find these things that look like human but really aren't. They were call Eratz. Eratz were copies of the children of the people who first came to Erat. One of the Eratz were named Jonathan, and Jonathan was a nice guy. He was so nice that he turned on his own people to help Elaine and Dody. Dody's brother, Bobby, wandered off and Elaine, Jonathan and Dody go on a adventure to find him but not get caught by the Erat, because if they are, they will be copied. And all that would be left of them would be their teeth.

For my opinion on this book, I think this book was really confusing and weird. The Eratz are aliens that are invisible but in the end, they start to 'spore' so I started to think of mushrooms.
