A girl's stepmother doesn't let her go to a ball.

0/4 (Terrible).

I swear they couldn't have spend more than a couple weeks making this.

One of my all time favorite Paul Campbell movies. You laugh all the way through. It looks like they are having so much fun.

Title of the Film / Major Stars
She’s All That/Freddie Prinze, Jr. & Rachel Leigh Cook

Themes:
Senior Year, Single Parent Family, Relationships

Age / Grade Appropriateness:
17 and above

Censorship Issues (are there any elements of this film that might make it unsuited for classroom use):
I would not suggest having this movie shown in the classroom. There is a lot of foul language and sexual content. The message is a good one, but not for the classroom.

Plot Summary (Summarize the plot in 250 words or less):
Zach, the most popular senior in his class, has just been dumped by his longtime girlfriend. He is persuaded by close friends to accept a bet that he can make any girl homecoming queen just by becoming their close companion. The girl that is chosen is not as popular and is more concerned with the Earth and the arts, then her friends or the prom. He is faced with problems when he begins to have true feelings for her. He finds along the way that what is seen on the outside of a person does not always reflect what is on the inside. She also has an awakening and realizes that she needs to live her teenage years out as a teenager and not as a parent yet. Feelings get hurt, but overall great lessons are learned.

Critique (Consider if the movie fits what we have discussed as good YA books. Although it’s a movie, some of the same principles apply. Include your opinion of the movie here as well):
The characters are age appropriate for the young adult audience. The problems that they are faced with are very real and believable. The setting of the movie takes place at a high school. They have parties at houses where parents are absent, they go out to places such as the beach and the mall, and one other major scene happens at prom. These places are all familiar to a teenager at this age.

Curriculum Uses (Possible uses in the classroom / school library / public library):
This movie can be compared to books with the same plot and themes. It could also be used to help students who have lost a parent and are struggling to act their age, and not as a parent or adult. Great lessons on self-worth and honesty.
