I enjoyed it. The characters achormotopsia was only a factor a couple of times, but it was interesting and well plotted

I think the writer took on more than he could handle. There were interesting storylines and ideas, but a lot of unnecessary things, too. I thought it would never end, at some points. Much ado about nothing.

I didn't enjoy this nearly as much as the first book featuring Kay Farrow. It's taken me a long time to get around to reading it. I'm like that sometimes when it comes to sequels to books I've liked a lot. It's by no means a bad book it just didn't capture my imagination like The Magician's Tale did. In this one Kay gets caught up following up on what her elderly photography mentor Maddy was up to before her untimely death.

Splendid thriller by "David Hunt" (a pseudonym of a San Franciscan author) in which photographer Kay Farrow unravels a mystery regarding the murder of her friend, a street hustler named Tim. Farrow also has complete color blindness, seeing only in black and white and the grey shades in between. Hunt crafts a remarkably taut and atmospheric tale that has surprises in unexpected places and doesn't flinch from the seamy/steamy side of life in San Francisco.
Very enjoyable.
