This book is a non-fiction science book that describes different elements of weather. The book talks about sunny days, windy days, snowy days, and stormy days. It explains how different weather elements occur like hail, wind and rain. This book is an excellent book to use in lower grades. The illustrations are very colorful and big. There are is so much information about each topic that the reader does not loose interest. The author even added questions to ask during the reading of the book. This books theme are science and weather. This book would be perfect to use at the beginning of Kindergarten to explain weather. Weather is covered during calendar math time each day. This would help the children understand exactly what they will be looking for when talking about the day's weather each day. I really did enjoy this story about the little boy looking at the insects as aliens. One of the things I enjoy most, is that they put the English in one color, and the Spanish in another. I really wish more bilingual books would do this. I teach and English kindergarten and a Spanish kindergarten, and I constantly have to tell kids which sentences in my bilingual books they need to read. Color cues would be so helpful! I use this tactic in my room and wish literature would do the same thing, at least in the bilingual leveled readers!… (plus d'informations)
