I like this twist on the Ugly Duckling as a way to transition from Halloween to Thanksgiving. OK, and I also just loved how my youngest spent the whole day roaming around shouting, "Oh My Gosh! I'm a Squash!" when we read it.

There was a lot lacking in this book....but I wanted to highlight one thing that I liked.

BIG words were labeled. We talk about that in ECRTR sessions and how labelling is an excellent way to introduce new words to a child.

The book was not my favorite. So would I use it for ECRTR? Hard to know....
