I liked this book because on every page the shape is cut into the story. So, they are showing different shapes of things and you can run your finger around the edge of each shape in the center of the page. I think that this is important for kids to be able to have the touch of how the shape feels. It also helps the kids to learn how to draw the shapes.

The story is engaging enough, but the strength of this book is owed to each animal being clearly laid out so children can count and begin to recognize visually what quantities look like. A good everyday book to build number skills. Make work sheets reflecting book and have children fill in what number belongs with the picture.
