World of Origami par Isao Honda
A comprehensive collection of origami models in 260 pages plus index and bibliography. Pretty much anything you might want to make is in here, and there are guidelines for creating anything that Mr Honda omitted. Some of the patterns require specially shaped paper, such as equilateral triangles or hexagons. Some require scissors. There's a lot of explanatory material about historical background and traditions, interestingly presented. The models themselves are arranged in order of increasing difficulty, which is convenient. Absolutely cute book with a gimmick: many of the figures are illustrated by a tipped-in example of the figure itself. The instructions are clear and easy to follow (and having an actual folded piece to compare it to is quite helpful). This book includes instructions for my favourite version of the origami frog, the quasi-realistic one that can be inflated to 3-D and even hops fitfully if pressed like a tiddley-wink.
