This was one of the hardest books to get through, ever. For the first 130 pages there was no real plot, just random memories loosely linked together. I gave myself two weeks to finish this, basically 13 pages a day, and I had to make myself read that many. Character development was okay, but the story-line itself was extremely lacking until halfway through the book. The ending left a lot to be desired. In my everyday life, I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts and watch a lot of movies/shows about murderers so I thought this would be something I would enjoy. I was very wrong.

I would not recommend this book to anyone. Ever. I was not a fan.

Eh, this psychological thriller started out quite strong but sort of fizzled out in the second half as my interest waned. Rather well written though, I'd read another by Mr Hogan.

A really creepy main character, a good plot, thoroughly enjoyable

While not as delightfully gory, this treat of a book does read like a Thomas Harris novel written from the point of view of the villain. Thrillers and anxiety don't mix, so I rarely pick them up and even more rarely finish them, but I devoured this book and left it wondering why more people aren't talking about it.
