I can't quite classify it as it doesn't really fit. It's not a romance, the romances all fail. It's not a murder mystery as that doesn't get started until 24% (Chapter 10) into the book; therefore, it's really just incidental to the book. It's not entirely a family drama as there is NO resolution, growth, etc.
I guess if I had to it's about sex. It starts with a "shock" type beginning using sex. Prostitutes, strippers, teenage sex, who's sleeping with who, who's not sleeping with who, who wants to sleep with who, who uses sex as a weapon, etc, that goes through the book over and over and over. Even with the murder investigation (with or without the police) we cannot escape mentions of who wants to sleep with who or who isn't sleeping with who, etc.
Some minor grammatical and spelling errors are present, but these are fairly incidental.
