Eileen Heyes does a good job describing the atrocities of Hitler's sinister siege on German youth. Despite the evil of the motivation, kids may be inspired by how much was accomplished by such young children.

The Hitler Youth was made of both boys and girls. When they first started in the HItler Youth it was like the boy scouts. They did military training, sports, and they learned comradeship. All of the fun ended when WWII started. Many young men died for Adolf Hitler. A lot of young people were proud to serve for Hitler because he was the only ruler they knew. They also thought that he would make Germany a better place for everybody.

This book examines the lives of those involved in the Hitler Youth. The book is filled with pictures and quotes that add to the rich narrative. While some students might not be interested in this topic, it will definitely enrich any lesson on World War II Germany. It would also be helpful for any research project/paper on the topic.

I really enjoyed the first hand accounts, quotes, and pictures. They really made the topic come alive.

A well-written mystery set in the film-making community of New York in 1932. The murder reminded me of a cleaned up version of the Fatty Arbuckle murder of a young actress. The ambiance includes an "Our Gang" of sorts, comments about Prohibition, and convincing descriptions of place and time.
