As I said in my review of the first book, Vampire Rising, I wanted to re-read the first two books in this trilogy before reading the final book, The Triumph of Death. I am so glad I decided to do so because I really like these books.

Voice of the Undead is a great sequel, but it’s not as great as the first book. I’m not sure what it is that made me enjoy it less, but when I finished it, I didn’t have the same feeling of excitement. I didn’t want to grab someone and shove this book in their face and tell them read it.

I know a lot of trilogies have problems with the second book, and maybe that’s what it is, I still really enjoyed it but not as much as Vampire Rising. However, I can’t wait to read the last book. It will be my next read.… (plus d'informations)

This was a re-read for me. I first read it back in 2012 and I remember enjoying it. Since I recently got the third book, I thought it would be fun to read the first two books again before reading the last book in the trilogy.

The plot isn't anything that new, but it’s still a lot of fun. The characters are great. They had me laughing out loud a couple of times. They aren't as developed as I would like, but it’s the first book and it’s pretty short.

As someone who loves Frankenstein, vampires, and all things dark and creepy, I really enjoyed all the references to Shelley, Polidori, Byron and Villa Diodati. I’m not going to lie, that may be my favorite thing about this book.

If you want a fun, fast read, than you need to pick this book up. I may even read it again for a third time at some point.… (plus d'informations)
