HBO's Rome is the greatest, most influential TV series ever made. So many great series followed this one's lead, and is usually considered by critics and fans as THE measuring stick for all others.
One thing I would like to see forthermore is a long term TV series set in ancient Rome. Maybe from the founding upto the around the time of Emperor Diocletian, when the empire split. Would be a very long term project though. HBO did a good job for the 1st Triumvirate and, who knows, can go further

The development of Bruce Wayne and Alfred's relationship and how you can see how Selina Kyle carefully keeps people at arms length to keep herself safe, I liked how the relationships developed over time. Theo Galavan is an interesting character and his changes are going to have repercussions. The second series continues the story into the time of Octavian. Although some episodes are strong there is also evidence of a good deal of padding, particularly towards the end. A lot of sex and violence but no more so than in the first series. The sub-plot concerning Vorenus' children becomes tedious. The cast no doubt had a lot of fun making the series. It's a bit disconcerting finding the chauffeur from Downton Abbey up to no good with Octavia.
