The speaker in this dialog, the lonly voice of the desert, is the Christ of the Three Temptations as outlined in the Gospels. The second voice is the "dark echo" of and reaction from Jesus' own authentic inspiration. He who said to Peter, "Get thee behind me, Satan" does not seem to have been one who would have needed to see in the desert and Incarnate Tempter. That spirit of deceit spoke in his own mind and was answered there, although in the closing section it is allowed also to find actual voice and form.… (plus d'informations)
