Heartbreaking account of the shooting in Charleston, alongside the cost of forgiveness and the need for the human heart to express anger in the aftermath. A story of grace, a story of justice, a story that speaks to the motivations of evil and the horrors it creates. A difficult read but a necessary one.

While the full inclusion of the LGBTQ+ individuals would be a cornerstone of our new community, we would embrace and advocate for the fullest inclusion of all God's people into our church and our society, be they be people of color, immigrants, impoverished, physically or intellectually challenged, or marginalized in any way.

Nonfiction. 336 p. Eileen. I suggested it last year too.
Available in hardback, paper, and Kindle.
A deeply moving work of narrative nonfiction on the tragic shootings at the Mother Emanuel AME church in Charleston, South Carolina. The focus is on the aftermath--for those present at the shootings, their families, and the city of Charleston. This book illuminates two big issues for me--when and how to forgive, and what role religion plays in making sense of our lives.
336 p.
