I enjoyed the book and learned a fair amount about the lives of trees and the interconnected nature of “nature” and man in general. I felt like I’d have liked more science and less philosophy, but I think the title was sufficient to earn me there might be a bit more of the latter, so I really can’t complain. Actually , an often lovely book

In a way, this is a nice companion piece to The Hidden Life of Trees. Its scope is broader, encompassing more info on insects, birds, mammals, etc. But it does a great job of conveying how interconnected all of nature is.

I'm in awe of the connections made in this book and the storytelling that is, in places, poetry. The connections between our ability to hear the world around us and our ethical treatment of it are critical lessons for our time that need to be shared.
