Very readable for such a large tome (655 over-sized pages), but sadly (as often occurs) the book included too few maps. The maps that are present are of poor quality and are not coordinated with the text. The author may be extremely familiar with the locale, but it would be helpful to the reader if the referenced farms, etc. were actually located on accompanying maps. The writing and research are superb. It's too bad the maps were not given the same attention.
