Sophie Parker is trying to move on with her life after her father and brother are sent to prison for creating a Ponzi scheme. Small town life is gossipy but comforting even if it involves an eccentric aunt and couponing. AJ Devlin is a high school classmate who gets Sophie unintentionally involved in a murder. Great story with vivid characters. I found myself reading between commercials on tv because I couldn't wait to see what happened next. Well done.

Cozy mysteries are often one of the favorite comfort genres. Small town feel, characters almost out of Mayberry, gossip, drama, murder and a dash of humor make this a great lighthearted read if you want to try to figure out who took out the Coupon Queen. Marla is found dead in her living room. Who did it? Sophie Parker finds her dead body and gets embroiled in the mystery. She puts romance, her jobs and other items at risk while she does this. Oh, she gets pulled into love triangles of two sisters and a garden that holds secrets. I just can't say much about the book because you have to read it. It's so funny and a great read. The characters are very memorable. Aunt Rose and Carl,, Vive and Tracy, Ellie. You have to visit this town. Highly recommend.… (plus d'informations)

Life isn’t exactly the way that Sophie Parker planned. After her dad and brother are jailed for running a Ponzi scheme, she finds herself without any money and moving back to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. While she is not homeless (her cantankerous aunt takes her in), she is stuck working at the only place that will hire her as a wench waitress at a pirate-themed restaurant. Her only friends are the ladies of a discount shopping coupon group which just so happens to include her high school nemesis. When her former teenage crush, AJ, invites her on a plane ride she never images that they will both be suspected of murdering the indebted plane owner.

Sophie finds herself on a madcap adventure trying to stay one step ahead of the police, who want to finger her for the crime. She finds herself investigating the situation using her smarts, the info she gets from the gossipy coupon group, and surprisingly her aunt. The book is filled with lots of humor, some laugh out loud moments, lots of action and adventure, and a really good murder mystery to solve.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Some of the plot was predictabe, even obvious but the solution did surprise me. I could have done with less details about the sex between Tess and Jack but it was clearly indicated in the blurb so it wasn't a surprise.
