Horse Care for Kids: A Fun Guide for Young Equestrians by Daniel A. Hart isn't just for kids. Romance author Shelly Thacker advises aspiring writers, when writing a manuscript, to include in their research reading children’s books. Childrens books offer insight into daily activities in a rudimentary manner. Hart's book is one such children's book that provides aspiring writers with rudimentary knowledge and basic explanations about horses and the care and upkeep that is necessary for the well-bring of horses.

Both adults and children benefit from reading Hart's book. The information he provides opens the reader's mind about horses from their different body types and gait to their grooming and health needs. From the various functions that different horses serve like moving carriages to competitive thoroughbred racing. Hart's writing style keeps his audience engaged and fascinated by his discussion of the various breeds of horses.

During the reading, audiences minds will likely drift off to their favorite TV western series or movie, relating the knowledge that Hart gives them to how horses are shown on film. It suddenly hits readers that their experience with horses is limited. It takes a great deal of attention and care towards horses to keep them thriving and healthy. Horses suddenly share common ground with human beings. Both require good hygiene practices and both come in different sizes, colors, personalities, and temperaments.

Through Hart's book, readers will acquire an understanding and affection for horses that gives them a deeper appreciation for the animal and its numerous breeds. Hart's book is designed for children but it really appeals families. It is a book that the entire family will enjoy.

My daughter really loves this book! She has wanted a horse since she was about 4 years old and this gave her a very good perspective of care, time, requirements etc. It was very informative and can be read again to brush up on basics at any level.

This basic book does exactly what the title says. It is a book on the basics of horses and horse care for younger children. In a conversational tone, it sets out some history of horses, ways to bond with your pony/horse, and how to care for them and their tack. While teaching a child to be self reliant around horses, the author assures the reader to work with a parent or to call the vet if necessary. Emphasis is placed on both a happy and confident child and pony. At the end the author talks about famous horses from mythology and history. Makes a nice beginner book prior to jumping into the Pony Club manuals.… (plus d'informations)

Although this book is intended for children, I loved it. This book is packed with all kinds of facts about horses, not just about how to take care of them. I learned a lot about horses and enjoyed the short quiz questions at the end of each section. The book includes color pictures and also drawings of horses, such as horse anatomy. As I was reading this book, I often read the horse information out loud to my husband, as this was so fascinating to me.

The book features sections on history of horses, their anatomy, their lifestyle and life span, horse breeds, how horses walk, what they eat, and how to care for them. Even if a person is not interested in horses very much, this is a fascinating and attention-getting little book. It is obviously written by a person who is quite knowledgeable about horses and knows how to share that knowledge in a way that is fun to read. I think this is a good book for kids and adults to read together. It is written in a way that is easy to understand for kids and adults, without being condescending. I highly recommend this book for all audiences.… (plus d'informations)
