Melanie Harlow is a romance author who grew up with a love for reading and often devoured romances by Nora Roberts. Her favorite authors are Liane Moriarity, Anita Shreve, and Kate Morton. She started out teaching high school English and social studies and instructing dance classes. After the birth afficher plus of her daughters she didn't return to teaching English but instead focused on being a mom, dance teacher and writer. Her first novel was a young adult novel, Speak Easy. After this, she ventured into romance novels. In 2014 and early 2015, she wrote and published the Frenched series as well as The Tango Lesson, a standalone novella. In 2015 and early 2016, she published the Happy Crazy Love series. The rest of 2016 and early 2017 will see three companion novels. CW's: anxiety, trauma responses, death of character (off page)
This was a pretty good "I'm in love with the boy-next-door/small town" romance. What I really appreciated was the anxiety/trauma depiction. Cole lost his first wife after she gave birth to their daughter. It's been 9 years and he's guarded himself because he believes (although he does not recognize this in himself) good things do not last so you have got to be prepared for the other shoe to drop at a moment's notice. In fact, instead of enjoying happiness it's better to do something to undermine happiness because it will not last and it's better to avoid it than loose it. As someone who has anxiety and similar trauma responses, I felt like I was reading my own thoughts.… (plus d'informations)
