He was a drummer for Cold Water Flat from 1990 to 1996, and he has taught writing at Harvard University and the University of Iowa. He considers himself a “self-taught modern New England Transcendentalist.” Harding’s newest book, Enon, is a sequel to Tinkers, looking at the lives of George Crosby’s daughter, Kate Crosby, and his grandson Charlie.
