Courte biographie
Jeanne B. Hardendorff wrote about herself: "Basically I'm a storyteller. I believe in the value of storytelling, enjoy the worked involved in learning and mastering new stories, and know from my own experience the rapport that can be established by storytelling."

Mrs. Hardendorff says she can't remember a time when she wasn't either telling or listening to stories, and at the early age of twelve she decided to become a librarian. After having graduated from Southwestern at Memphis, she attended Columbia School of Library Service, where she studied under Mary Gould Davis. Since she liked children, she became a children's librarian, a profession which has given her ample opportunity to make use of her liking and talent for story hour.

She is now teaching storytelling at the Graduate Library School of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. [adapted from The Frog's Saddle Horse and Other Tales (1968)]
