This book allows the reader to go watch horses with its narrator. It is written simply and descriptively in the first person but with facts too. The author took children to a field of horses and watched what they were interested in to write this book and it came out great. The illustrations are lovely.
A great book for a young reader interested in horses and naturalism.

First sentence: I walk along the winding lane, past the tangled willows.

I really enjoyed this book for many reasons. The main purpose of this book is to inform the reader about horses. This is represented throughout the book in many ways. For example, on one page of the book, there is a diagram of a horse showing all the different parts of the horse. This is a handy piece of information if you were ever asked to clean a horse. Another example was when they listed a bunch of different colors that a horse can come in. The illustrations were very important to this book. Without the picture for the diagram, the words would make no sense to the reader. And even though the colors could have been describe through words, the message was conveyed much easier through pictures.… (plus d'informations)

Somebody gave this to my parents, who are birdwatchers, and they gave it to us. It's a parody of field guides to bird species, based on identifying the bird droppings left on cars. Silly and vulgar, amusing for 20 minutes and then just crude.
