I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. This is my first book by Shanna Handel, even though romance is not my typical genre. It was dramatic, exciting, and intense. The characters had a considerable amount of depth. I'd like to read the second book in this duo given the cliffhanger.

Carrie and Wes have an old-fashioned relationship. He's her Daddy and he takes her in hand. When she doesn't behave, Wes makes sure to rein her in and help Carrie get herself under control.

They're waiting on the ranch for their wedding date to come around when Jessica, Wes' brother's pregnant girlfriend, gets abandoned by Garrett. That causes a lot of stress to everyone, especially Carrie, since Jessica is also Wes' ex, and is close to Mama. When Carrie runs away, Wes catches her and shows her what her consequences are. However, when things start to fall apart, Carrie is there to hold everything together and keep things working.

I really enjoyed this story. It's a nice, sweet romance, with very good HEAs. I really like how the book shows the various sides of Carrie and how being Wes' little girl doesn't mean that she's a pushover and isn't competent and can't help people. It's interesting to see the journey that all the main characters take. I look forward to seeing if there's a third book in the series and if it goes the way that I expect it to.

I got an ARC, you got my honest and voluntary review

We're back in our sweet little town in Texas, with Wes and Carrie, and Ray and Jessica. Only now, we're prepping for Ray and Jessica's wedding. They're going to have it at Carrie and Wes' ranch, and both Carrie and Jessica are overly stressed, and that's upsetting their men. So both Ray and Wes are more than willing and ready to take their women over their knees to get things straightened out. Wes helps Carrie write a list and Ray takes some big decisions out of Jessica's hands, making everyone much less stressed.

We also get to meet Ray's long-lost sister, Buttercup. They share a father, but neither of them knew of the other until quite recently. She's a nice character, and I really like her.

I love that the series keeps following the same couples. We get a chance to learn more about them and to fall even more in love with them with each new book. These are really nice, sweet stories, with guaranteed HEAs, so if that's what you like, then this book and this series is definitely the series for you.
