Roger L. Hammer is a retired professional naturalist from the Miami-Dade Parks Department, and a part-time instructor and fieldtrip leader for Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Miami. He received the first Marjory Stone man Douglas Award and was the keynote speaker at the nineteenth World Orchid afficher plus Conference held in Miami in 2008.
