Riddled with typos and atrocious characters

The only reason I finished this book is I needed to know what happened. It was not worth it. The title didn't make sense. The characters were awful. The whole book needs a good editing.

Hard pass.

Lord Louis Bennett is looking for a wife, and at a ball arranged for that purpose he meets prostitute Clara and falls in love.
For me the plot was just too implausible with too many modern idioms. In the plot there was mention of a train station, but the first train station in London was 1837, definitely not Regency London.

Once again Ms Hamilton presents us with characters and plots and scenery that is realistic and not covered in smut. Poor Selina if she had only told the whole story from the beginning, but then I suppose there would n't have been a story. I loved this book and read most of it in the car on a little road trip. I look forward to getting through my tbr list and having more time for Ms Hamilton's books.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. Esther knows she has to make a match with an eligible bachelor who will help fund her family's money problems and ensure her little sister's first Season when she is old enough. Little did Esther know that she is going to do that but not in the way she planned. I loved the characters and the storyline so much. The author gets her hooks into the reader and you are compelled to turn pages.
