My Review of Crinoline Cowboys:
The Barbour collections that have come out in the past year have each been wonderful but this one? It is my favorite yet!
A Cowboy of Her Own; the character growth is spectacular.
Josephine’s Dream; my favorite of the collection with the childrens’ antics.
Love’s Cookin’ at the Cowboy Café; hilarious, and sweet.
Bea Mine; the first of the stories I read and the last in the collection, tied for favorite with Josephine's Dream.
Each of these are unique, interesting, and hilarious. With kidnappings, burnt meals, southern belles, and cowboy gentlemen you'll fall in love with the Crinoline Cowboys.
Rating: 4 stars.
Recommendation: 16 up for romance.
Verse: Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (King James Version.)
I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Upon finishing nursing school, Ginny Mathis decides to stay in the Outer Banks. Her mother and sister need help after the war breaks out, and she will be there for them. Timothy Elliott is a British reporter working with the M-6, and has seen more death and war than he wants to see. On the way to is new mission, there is a bombing, and Tim is injured. Will he survive another horrific time in this horrible war?

I love Patty Hall Smith’s books, and this one was very exciting, but not always in a good way. I’ve added this to my favorite Patty Hall Smith’s books. I was glad when Ginny and her girls found Tim after he was stranded. I found it interesting following the sisters and their interactions with Tim. And I can’t leave out the girl scout group Ginny formed with her sister and friends. This group was beyond interesting and humorous and just the right fit for this story. You will love this WWII story, especially if you have followed along with the series from Barbour books. I learned a lot about WWII and the effects it had on North Carolina and the Outer Banks area. There were also interesting and intriguing facts about the girl scouts, and the was as well that I had no idea about. I’m glad I read this book for several reasons, but mainly to learn a little more about our country. Give this book a try. You will be glad you did.

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

On My Honor by Patty Smith Hall is the eighth book in the multi-author Heroines of WWll series. Ginny Mathis is the leader of her younger sisters’ Girl Scout Troop. The girls keep a look-out for suspicious activity along the coast of their small North Carolina island. Ginny helps the girls deal with the life lessons thrust upon them during a time of war. I enjoyed the camaraderie and friendship of this small band of girls. There was a small amount of suspense through-out the story; with a sweet romance for Ginny.

I received this book from Celebrate-Lit for my honest review.

On My Honor by Patty Smith Hall, a work of Christian historical fiction drew me into the stories. I found myself unable to put the book down. Ginny Mathis leaves nursing school and returns to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to look after her mother and sister. I loved reading about the interactions between Ginny and her younger sister. I also loved how Ginny’s sister and her friends pray often, and rely on their faith.

Timothy Elliot, a British reporter, works with M-6, and finds himself stranded on the Outer Banks after the ship he was traveling on was destroyed. After Ginny’s younger sister and the rest of the Girl Scout troop discover Timothy, they all work together to thwart the destructive plans of two Germans.

I learned some interesting facts about World War II and it’s effects on North Carolina, facts about the Girl Scouts/Girl Guides, and more. If you enjoy Christian historical fiction with a dash of romance added in, check out this book for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
