An 'autobiography' of a favorite holiday celebrity. I enjoyed this very much. There are some historical inaccuracies but overall was enjoyable. It ties in all of the elements one would want Santa Claus to talk about from how reindeer fly, to A Christmas Carol and on to Coca-Cola advertising. A perfect pre-Christmas read to get me in the right mood.

There is a lot of filler info to round out the page count of this book. If you are interested in learning all the context of what was going on, including political, sociological, and familial histories that go back decades before the action, then you'll gobble up this book. Otherwise you'll need to skim heavily, which is what I did.

Forget the movies, the novels that have been written about Bonnie and Clyde. Read Guinn's top notch work of nonfiction Go Down Together and you might agree that his well-researched as close as possible to the truth work is so much more exciting and rewarding than the sensationalist distortions of the media and entertainment industry.

Tragic, outrageous, sad, scary that is the story of Charles Manson and the murders committed by him and the murders committed he commuted through his "family". Frank Guinn's portrayal of the life and times of Manson manages to be objective and captivating at the same time. Guinn's work is well-researched and he never lets his own opinion take over. I consider this work on Mansion the most well-rounded and informative book on the life of Charles Manson and all the unfortunate people he brought under his spell… (plus d'informations)
