Animorphs: The Graphic Novel – The Visitor continues Michael Grant and Chris Gine’s adaptation of K.A. Applegate’s phenomenal YA series that took the late ’90s by storm. Like the books themselves, the second book primarily follows the perspective of Rachel. Having established the Andalite/Yeerk war in the first book, this one spends more time on the role of controllers – hosts, willing or unwilling, of Yeerk parasites. Rachel begins to suspect that her friend Melissa’s father – a teacher at the school she, Jake, Tobias, Cassie, and Marco attend – is a controller. She and the group work to help her gain the ability to mimic Melissa’s cat so that she can infiltrate the house. There, she sees a hologram of Visser Three and learns a bit more about the conflict. Jake continues to adapt to his leadership role while Marco plays things safe. Cassie adapts quickly to shapeshifting and Tobias remains trapped in the form of a red-tailed Hawk. This graphic novel is a great way for long-time fans of the series to revisit it or introduce it to their own children. Grant and Gine do a phenomenal job portraying some of the body horror elements of the Animorphs’ abilities.… (plus d'informations)

In Animorphs: The Graphic Novel – The Invasion, Michael Grant and Chris Grine adapt K.A. Applegate’s first novel from 1996, The Invasion. The story introduces Jake, Rachel, Tobias, Cassie, and Marco, five teens who find themselves pulled into an interstellar war when they encounter a crashed alien spaceship. Inside, Andalite prince Elfangor-Sirinial-Shamtul explains that Yeerks, a parasitic alien race, have already invaded Earth in secret in order to use humanity as slaves in their interstellar empire. Elfangor gives the teens the Andalite to shapeshift into animal forms in order for them to defend themselves and their world until the rest of the Andalite forces arrive in a year. The Yeerks have two alien races under their control: the Hork-Bajir, a peaceful race turned into foot soldiers under Yeerk control, and the Taxxons, a sluglike species who are Yeerk allies. Their leader on earth is Visser Three, the only Yeerk to take control of an Andalite host. In this first story, the teens begin to learn how to use their powers and wage their first guerilla strike on the Yeerk forces, who maintain an underground cavern for regeneration. Grant and Grine faithfully adapt Applegate’s text, bringing Animorphs to a new readership. Great for nostalgic millennials looking to introduce their own kids to this series.… (plus d'informations)

This was a great conclusion to the Camp Whatever trilogy. I love that Willow's dad finally found his lost friend, I may have teared up in the final scene. If Chris Grine keeps writing more books in this series I will keep reading them because they are wonderful stories filled with wonder and friendship.

Nooooo, not Elric!

Oh man, I cannot wait to see what happens in Secrets of Camp Nowhere Vol. 3. So many secrets were discovered in this book, I hope they are able to stop Henry in the next book.
