As Taylor waits for her cousin, Jeremy to pick her up at the local bar, she eats pity maraschino cherries from the bartender and contemplates the state of her life. She has no money, no car, and she's trying to take care of both her mother and sister while working for less than minimum wage as a motel maid. When she seduces Ethan Stone in the ladies bathroom and lifts his wallet, she knows she has reached the bottom of the barrel. She leaves the wallet with the bartender and disguises herself as a man to get a job as a construction worker. However, Ethan turns out to be her boss, and he thinks that she stole the money out of his wallet.

The first half of Coldhearted Boss features a build up of tension as Taylor and Ethan try to work together on the jobsite and deal with their animosity over the night in the bar. Unfortunately the promise of all that build up results in a bit of a let down in the last half of the book. Problems and conflicts are solved much too easily, leaving the conclusion of the story feeling flat and the reader, cheated. Taylor is a likable character and her motives are clear, but Ethan is a bit of a question that never really gets answered. It does seem as though there are lots of parallels between this book and the movie, Pretty Woman. Overall, however, Coldhearted Boss pales in comparison.

Real estate agent, Madeline Thatcher brings home a tiny puppy from the local shelter and names him Mouse. She has no idea that he is actually a Bernese Mountain Dog, but the handsome new vet, Dr. Adam Foxe is quick to tell her at her first appointment. Unfortunately Madeline is mortified because she and Adam already met when Mouse tackled him and knocked him into the mud. Adam suggests dog training classes at the local Y, and Madeline decides it is a good idea until she realizes that Adam is teaching the class. This is just one more thing for Madeline to feel bad about when there are so many other things in her life that are going wrong.

The Foxe and the Hound lives up the the tag of romantic comedy. Almost everything in Madeline's life is funny, especially Mouse. Both she and Adam are very likable characters with Madeline's quirks, a standout part of the novel. Several supporting characters play a part in bringing Adam's and Madeline's backstories to the fore. While the book is filled with laugh out loud moments, the ones involving Mouse are the best parts of the story. The romance plays a secondary role to the humor, but still brings the plot to a satisfying conclusion. Overall, The Foxe and the Hound is an extremely entertaining novel.

This was so good. It was a slow burn because Matt and Bailey just didn’t seem to get along at all. They butted heads and they worked together so they stayed away from each other as much as possible even though they both had an attraction to the other. Matt is a well known amazing surgeon but he is difficult to work with because he is very particular about his methods and work habits so he comes off as a giant jerk. Bailey is a sweetheart, she’s raising her teenage sister and working hard with no social life to make them a home. Can these two fight their attraction or will it consume them? Really good read.… (plus d'informations)

I got this book in a book subscription that while I didn't like the contents of (so I ended up not posting a unboxing) I decided to read the book. Anything You Can Do is pretty much a stereo typical Romantic Comedy and that is absolutely not a bad thing. I went into this expecting some fun and that is exactly what I got and also what I needed. I've learned that sometimes I don’t always need the book to surprise me or have some plot twists that leaves me gasping in surprise.

The two romantic protagonists are Daisy, the main narrator of the book. She is of course the skinny, blonde, young doctor who is a big immature. We tend have her competitor and childhood rival Lucas who is of course the most hottest main in Hawthorne, who is also a doctor and has abs that can grate cheese. While I did enjoy the sexual tension and the hot scenes between Daisy and Lucas, Daisy's constant competiveness and overall oblivious of her feelings were annoying.

When Lucas finally confronted her on this I almost cheered out loud! The ending pretty much was what I thought it would be and I am actually pretty glad about that. Sometimes you need a happy ending, no unanswered questions, no waiting for the sequel. Just an ending.
