I enjoyed this book. It's a good fantasy and I like that the characters aren't all good or bad. There is something to relate to in most of them. I am not a fan of cliff-hangers, but I'll continue on with this series in Kindle Unlimited. It doesn't bother me as much when it's an unlimited author since I've already paid my fee to read all of the books. I'm hoping the remainder of the series will be as engaging as this book.

I loved this book, but found it heartbreaking at the same time. The characters experienced so much growth, but not all positive. I don't want to give anything away so I won't go into details, but I hope the continuing themes of restoration extend to others as the series progresses. I'm definitely moving on to the next book.

I really liked it! The story was action packed, Despite being a sheltered princess, I liked Talia. She was quick on her feet and dedicated to saving herself. She wasn’t content to sit around waiting for things to work out, she was smart and took action to ensure her own freedom. I enjoyed the other characters and what they brought to the book. I wish I had liked Will a little bit more but his narrative did bring something to the book. The parallels of the slavery I thought were interesting, it did seem like the Mock’s enslavement of Humans was portrayed harsher despite them seeing humans as the savages. I thought they did very well not making romance a focus. There was a little bit but it was more a look at humanity rather than love I would say. It was barely there. I found it very interesting and I wish I could have learned a bit more about what the new society was like and what Mock life/slavery was like.… (plus d'informations)

I finally managed to finish it! Yes! *happy dance*
Don't get me wrong, the plot was good, the worldbuilding was okay and the characters were decently
fleshed out and felt real (dibs on Stolas btw :D)

So... why only 3* stars and the problems finishing it?
Well... it felt too slow :( Start was good, final chapters were great, but everything in between just felt a tad slow. It didn't manage to suck me in, and as such, it felt like I had to plough through it.

That said, it most probably is me, so don't let me put you off reading it. You might really enjoy this book!

Will I read the second book? Tbh, I'm really not sure, so it's a maybe.
