I am going to just mark this as DNF'd. I started reading in Nov 2014, set it aside for shinier things and have not picked it up since. I haven't even touched it except to move it out of the way. Time to give up.

Just This Once was a good read, but had too many unbelievable coincidences to give it a solid four stars.First, the hero(a tough gunslinger) and heroine (a cook & fill in dancer)meet in Abilene, Kansas, where she was trying to pick his pocket, and he was passing through. He turns out to be the heir for an earldom in England, where he grew up as a younger son. She turns out not to be an orphan, but the granddaughter of a duke.(She doesn't find out until late in the story.)She is persuaded to marry the hero(although she knows it's not legal)to help him out of a jam that she caused. He marries her to fulfill terms of his father's will. After the fact, they find out that he was supposed to marry a 'Lady'. The heroine is already married to an outlaw, who along with his gang, follows her to England for revenge. (How likely is that? How long would that voyage take and how expensive?) Of course, the heroine(who had been raped and traumatized by her outlaw husband), and hero fall in love with each other, with the help of his magical love stick. Meanwhile, there is a gang of bad guys in England that have been causing mayhem and robbing people who live out in the country. The heroine's outlaw husband, and his gang go in together with the English bad guys to kidnap the heroine and ransom her for money, with the intent to kill the earl. He comes to rescue her as she is shooting two of the bad guys and escaping out the window. Heroine's outlaw husband is killed, hero gets wounded, but not seriously. Later, they meet with the lawyer about the will, who has heard that the countess is not a lady, but the duke comes in with his other granddaughter to save the day! This is a tough one to rate, because it sounds like a fun frolic, but it is more serious than that. 3.5/5… (plus d'informations)

Cute story of Emily Spoon and Sheriff Clint Barclay. She is part of the notorious Spoon family, former outlaws. It was a pretty good book, not great, something about the writing bothered me towards the end.
This is a sequel to Rough Wrangler, Tender Kisses, which I did not know, since it is not identified as part of a series on Goodreads.
I don't think the third book exists, but the book introduced the younger brother Nick, in the end.

Good entertaining read. Liked the characters and the story. I'd say between 3 1/2 and 4 stars. Wouldn't be a keeper for me though.
