Simply adorable.

Megan and Sarah are members of a writing club. They chat over coffee one day and are attracted to one another.

Unbeknownst to the two women, they already know each other online where they participate in the fandom of a popular TV series - neither using their real names - where Megan sees Sarah as her nemesis.

For me, this story absolutely captures the feel of being obsessed with a fandom, even though the TV series they are obsessed with is the author's creation. There is a lot of talk about fandoms and fanfic and the nostalgia factor was huge for me.

So, Megan and Sarah discover each other's online identities and their budding romance looks doomed, then they find themselves handcuffed together as part of a writing club exercise. And of course, they lose the key to their cuffs. And so hijinks ensue.

This is a wonderful, warm, touching and sexy tale. I loved every minute of it and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

I was born in 1957; I learned about and lived the history this book covers. And that was interesting, and the author did a great job bringing it to life via these characters, but it is the characters who pulled me in and kept me reading. The jumps in time only made that more striking. The last line made me cry and smile. Highly recommended.

I have read a fair number of triad/polyamorous stories, but this one, set in the 1800s, is one of the most charming, and I recommend it without reservation to anyone who enjoys stories about good people making presumptions and mistakes, but working out how to correct the missteps even when what it promises to lead to is unusual and won't always be easy. The prose is clear, and vivid. Read this one.

This was a sweet coming together of three people, and it was a lovely slow journey; this author always seems to pack a lot into her writing, so this is short yet has tons of feeling.
