Before I read this book, I was looking for an easy introduction to Europe. I've lived here in the continent for 4 years, but I have to say I know and understand very little of what is going on Europe, why things are the way they are, and where are things going with Europe. After having read all (nearly all) its 451 pages, I have to say I am not much the wiser..but I will persevere, perhaps its my French...

It did give me an idea as to the vagueness and indecisiveness of it all, and of a Europe caught in limbo between nationalistic tendencies of its member countries, and its grand plans for a European super state..
