Courte biographie
Tracy grew up on Eastern Long Island in New York. She loved reading at a young age and, even as important, she believed in true love and happily ever after. Her imagination blossomed and she created tales of princes and princesses in far off lands, living in castles with gardens the vivid colors of impressionist paintings.
Tracy’s love for reading increased, especially historical tales of lost love and second chances. Among her favorites were works by Jane Austen, the Bronte Sisters. What could be more romantic than Mr. Darcy declaring his love for Elizabeth? Or Emma finding love in the familiar face of Mr. Knightley? Or of Jane finally returning home to a blind Mr. Rochester? If only there was such a man for her …
Well, it’s too early to tell but Tracy does still believe in happily ever after. She and her husband, Greg, reside in Houston with their three feline-sons. They eagerly await the release of Dance With Deception, the first in a series of three novels set in Victorian England. Tracy is hard at work writing the next two novels in the series. Dance With Deception is just the beginning …

I enjoyed this book. This is the third book in the New York Nighthawks series but it is the first book that I have read from the series and I thought it worked fine as a stand-alone. I picked this book up on a bit of an impulse. I was in the mood for a hockey romance and this book caught my attention so I decided to give it a try. This was my first experience with Tracy Goodwin’s work and I am happy to report that it was a good experience.

I liked Theo and Olivia and love the chemistry that they had with each other. They have been friends for a long time and never really thought about anything more. That is until they kiss and sparks fly. The fake relationship that they planned doesn’t stay fake for very long at all. My favorite parts of the book were the scenes with just Theo and Olivia. I thought that they were really good together especially when they let go of the stress that they were facing in their individual lives. I did think that most of the conflicts in the story weren’t really a big deal so it was a little hard to see why the characters were so upset.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance. Like a lot of sports romances, there wasn’t a lot of the actual sport in this story but it was still an enjoyable romance between a couple of characters that were easy to fall for. I do plan to keep my eye open for more of this author’s work in the future.

I received a digital review copy of this book from Loveswept.

Thank you to Goodreads and the publisher. I needed a light-hearted book and this was it.

Amelia was divorced with two wonderful, smart kids who were 8 and 10. She taught them right from wrong (mostly) but didn't want to get involved in a relationship after her divorce since her husband was a real jerk and practically disowned his kids thanks to his new relationship.

Enter Kyle, a wonderful, kind, single (of course) man who she met while at the community's Easter egg hunt when he was posing as the Easter bunny. What's not to like? He likes her kids, but is holding back too. Amelia decides that her kids are #1 priority and steps back from the relationship.

She also fights the HOA and the manager of the community and puts her in her place due to a gnone in her front yard which of course is against the bylaws. "Gnomegate" which she dubs it turns into more involvement in other ways with Carla.

A quick fun read which ends the way I thought it would.

With Neighbors Like This by Tracy Goodwin
Contemporary romance. Present active tense.
Amelia moves into a new home with her children after her divorce. A garden gnome causes an issue with the bylaws but Amelia has the support of her neighbors, including the Association President.
Family and housing community issues plus a slow burn romance makes this drama pleasingly sweet. Chloe and Jacob have a fantastic sibling friendship while Amelia works hard at being a good mother. I loved the tickle romps.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.
