Little salts licks was paul's nickname because he would sweat while cooking and all the dogs would want to lick him. Paul like dogs but couldn't stand being licked all the time. One day Paul found a dog, This dog was different he didn't try to lick Paul. Come to find out it was the King's dog. For finding the king's dog Paul was rewarded and now holds the position of the 1st assistant bearer of the king dog. Paul loves his new job.

This is a realistic fiction book about a boy who worked as the meet turner in the kings kitchen. Because of his job the boy always had dogs following him around and licking the salt off of him. When the king comes to the palace the boy becomes upset because of the extra work this will mean for him. The king has a dog who travels with him, but during the party he runs away because of all the people around him. The boy does not know that all the people are looking for the King's dog because he is working in the kitchen. The dog runs up to the boy and the boy likes this dog because it does not try to lick him like all the other dogs. Someone sees that the boy found the dog and he is praised by the king and assigned a new job as bearer of the dog.… (plus d'informations)

Paul is also known as Salt Lick because the dogs like the salt off of his arms. He works as an assistant rotisire turner at a Palace of Versailles. He hates his job very much. One day the Sun King comes by with his dog to visit the palace. Later on in the day the dog goes missing and Paul finds her. The Sun King is so happy that he gives him the job of dog sitter.
