This is the story of Dwight Eliot,who sees his old home being moved down the highway and learns of a redevelopment in his home town involving a casino and the local Indian Band. Dwight has a strong attachment to the place (and circumstances) of his birth; in fact, his university thesis was a compilation of the oral history surrounding the baseball game-turned riot on the day he was born in the dugout. We watch him reconnect with an old friend (Amy) and continue to seek information on his birth from his mother. We see his struggles with his wayward brother, Darcy.
