This was a pretty quick read, but have to say it was mostly just an okay read. I think perhaps being so short, we do not ever really get much of a sense of the main characters and their backgrounds.
Despite that, I would be willing to read more by this author, but perhaps a little longer next time.
Ps. Just noticed it is part of a series, this book may make more sense read in conjunction with the rest of the series.

I wish we had seen more of Volkar as the captain with his crew, because the few moments we saw them together humanized him. And his crew was great!
On the whole, it wasn't a bad book, just a bad romantic interest for Carly.
