I received a copy of this novel from Bewitching Book Tours in exchange for my honest review. Jilly and her twin sister Caroline have grown distant once they grew into their powers. Jilly accepts the gift she has, while her sister Caroline avoids hers like the plague, until now. This was a great romance novel, I really like the fact that they made Jillian and William soulmates. They’ve been bonded though time, I thought that was so romantic. Caroline returns home after having problems in her marriage. After a scary encounter she and her sister have with a strange man, Caroline decides to embrace her powers and become the person she’s destined to be. This was a well written novel that flowed nicely and even had a bit of mystery to it. Who is this mystery man that visits Caroline in her dreams? That part left me hanging, I guess I’ll have to read book 2 to find out.… (plus d'informations)

I thought this book seemed incomplete. A lot of things happen, but we don't get to read about them. Bronwyn becomes a vampire, and suddenly it is 20 years later and she has had a falling out with her creator, Ronan. She is apparently on the run from Ronan, but when he finds her she jumps gladly into his arms. Why? The rest of the book she goes back and forth between her 2 love interests, Rider and Ronan. She seems to be in love with whoever is with her at the time. I didn't understand why she was so conflicted. She just seemed stupid to me.

Suddenly werewolves show up and have a big war. That seemed totally random to me. I felt like we were supposed to care about all these characters. But given that this was the first book in the series, not enough time and background was spent on anyone for me to care about them.

This is the second book I have read by [a:Jessica Gibson|1143958|Jessica Gibson|https://www.goodreads.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-d9f6a4a5badfda0f69e70cc94d962125.png], the first being [b:Love and Blood|16247779|Love and Blood (Blood Ties, #1)|Jessica Gibson|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1354727213s/16247779.jpg|22276262]. I liked this one much more. I feel like she has matured as an author. Haunted U had a more cohesive plot line, and more likable characters. I liked the world of magic that she evoked. Reading about Mermaids was also interesting, since I haven't read too many books about them yet. I liked Ezzie and Beau, and their relationship. That they have decided to wait until marriage to have a sexual relationship is refreshing. I think I would like to read the next book in this series.… (plus d'informations)

I have been tired of vampire books recently, but I couldn’t put this one down. Both books in the series are rather short, almost serial length. My only complaint was that I wanted more. The ending of this one left me shaking my head going, “Oh holy shit! I did NOT see that coming!” Now, I cannot wait to read the next one. All I know is she needs to come on with it so I can figure out what the hell is going on with Rider.
